Birds several days ago
Here are the baby bluebirds several days ago. Now here they are today. Boy do they grow fast.
Bluebirds today
Last week I took a trip to Medicine Lodge State park near Hyattville. A well-tended State Park, the spot is an oasis in the Big Horn Basin. This site was excavated in the 70’s by George Frison. Its a continuous occupation site of over 11,000 years! Here are a few photos.

The archaeological work accomplished at this site was done by Dr. Freisen from U of Wyoming and Stu Connor, a self taught archaelogist lawyer from Billings, MT….they and their crew discovered 60 cultural levels and many many pictographs, and petroglyphs that were put there over many many hundreds of years. It would be difficult to absolutely say what tribe or tribes put those images there. It is a gentle place….there is a meandering river, plenty of game and shelter and it is out of the way…a good place to winter, give birth, make art or prepare food. I have been there many times. It is also a great place to camp and is maintained by the state of Wyoming, there is also a place to have a gathering and it is an elk wintering area. Very much worth a trip.
